MHS Class and Program Highlight: Computer Science
***
cobabecs.github.io shows off some of the Java projects that Computer Science students have worked on in our Computer Science class. Each link is a game or project that we have either worked on as a class, or a student has created on their own. This site, cobabecs.github.io, gives students a chance to look back on their achievements in future years, and it gives community members a chance to see what neat programs our computer science students have been working on.
***
To make the game downloads work, you will have to download the most recent version of Java JDK 17. The link to the proper download is on the website, and you will have to download the installer for your specific operating system.

Policy Review Tuesday: Student Body Cards, Activity Cards, & Pay to Participate, & Attendance Matters
***
Student Body Cards: Student body cards will be provided. These cards will allow students to be admitted to games and other designated school activities at a discounted rate ($1 off). Students without cards will be required to pay general admission entrance fees. This may also serve as an identification card. Do not lose it. It is very difficult to get a replacement.
***
Activity card: Students who do not participate in activities may purchase an activity card for $75. This card will allow students into all home regular season games. A verification will be added to their student body card. Jamborees, tournaments, and district tournaments are not included.
***
Pay to participate: All athletes are required to pay a per sport fee which is determined by the school board. The fee must be paid before the athlete will be allowed to participate. The student-athlete will receive an activity card when their fee is paid. Extenuating circumstances can be petitioned to the administration. This fee is non-refundable. The fee will be $110 per sport.

MHS Program and Class Highlight: MHS Art Program
***
Every year, the Idaho State Department of Education chooses one school and one classroom to design the Christmas Tree ornaments for the Idaho Tree in Washington, DC.
In 2024, the MHS Art Program was picked to represent the entire state! This was an amazing opportunity for our artists.
***
The Tree was put up in President‘s Park for the Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony on December 5, 2024.
***
This ceremony is a historic celebration that was first held on Christmas Eve in 1923. Now, over 100 years later, this tradition continues to mark the beginning of the holiday season. We were not able to post about it until after the event happened and the CBS Special aired.
***
You can watch the tree lighting that took place on December 5, 2024, by going to https://www.thenationaltree.org/watch-the-lighting/
