Larry and Wendy Thomas were nominated as Employees of the Month for December 2024. They were presented with a framed certificate and also two gift cards to restaurants of their choice. Kelly Hill, transportation supervisor, and Kris Bingham, bus shop secretary, were at the school board meeting to present the award. Larry Thomas has been driving bus for 43 years for the school district. Larry has managed to rack up over 700,000 miles in his bus driving career. Wendy joined the team a few years later as a substitute bus driver and then went fulltime 3 years later. Wendy has driven her regular bus route but also driven the After School Program bus for many years.
Both Wendy and Larry have been wonderful examples of hardworking, reliable and compassionate employees of Oneida School District. They have delivered students to and from school safely through all kinds of weather. They rarely take a day off and they always make sure students are safe on their buses. Wendy and Larry are an asset to Oneida School District and we are lucky to have them as bus drivers.
